STARTING POINT
PBDI stands for “Przedsiębiorstwo Budownictwa Drogowo-Inżynieryjnego”. This name was appropriate to the nature of the company’s operations at the time of its establishment – in the 90s. However, times have changed, PBDI has expanded its offer, started to build solar and wind farms, whereas roads and civil engineering construction accounted for a smaller and smaller share in the portfolio of orders.
ACTIONS
Today, the company is one of the largest players on the renewable energy market, which represents approximately 80% of its revenue. That is why PBDI approached us with a request to come up with a new name that would be appropriate to the company’s operations. The assumption of the naming process was to propose a name that would reflect the real scope of competences and modernity of the company. In addition, the name was to be universal enough so that in the event of further extensions of the company’s services, it would not be limited to just one technology.
RESULTS
As a result of the project, the company opted for the name ONDE. The word “onde” in Italian means waves, which are a symbol of energy and the forces of nature. It also means solar waves, wind power, and a new wave, meaning something fresh and innovative. This name perfectly reflects the company’s operations, conveys its strategy and places it in the category of innovative companies which care for the environment and the future.
